A Water Sensitive Wales?
CIRIA recently held the first workshop for a Water Sensitive Urban Design Scoping Study in Cardiff. This work is co-funded by Environment Agency Wales, Dwr Cymru Welsh Water and others to identify the vision and business case for WSUD in Wales.
Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) is a holistic approach to planning/ retrofitting development within the limits of the water environment which has been implemented in Australia. WSUD provides an interdisciplinary and partnership approach to deliver multiple benefits and ecosystem services as well as supporting the value of water in communities.
The Cardiff workshop report and combined presentations are available on this website – http://www.ciria.org. Case studies from Wales are required to support the evidence base and any information you can send to enquiries@ciria.org would be appreciated to support the study.
